Your alumni meetings are very important both to you and to us. Reunions with old classmates are often events with significant meaning. Our intention is to organize alumni meetings on a regular basis, at least twice a year. If you would like us to assist you with your private meetings at UCT Prague, please do not hesitate to contact us. We will be happy to help.
Past meetings
70 former UCT students attended the joint alumni reunion held on March 1, 2019.
The Rector opened the event with his speech on upcoming UCT expansions and the advances the university has made and is planing to make. We made a toast and together sang the academic anthem, Gaudeamus igitur, then sat back down on the university benches in the AI auditorium.
The program included excursions to the departments of the Faculty of Chemical Technology and a visit to the Faculty of Food and Biochemical Technology‘s Brewery Lachout, accompanied by beer tasting. The program continued with an intriguing lecture by Prof. Rumlová entitled: “HIV has been, HIV is out there: Will it still be?”.
Served was also a rich buffet with samples of molecular gastronomy, where we tasted extravagant delicacies such as whiskey with bacon, alginate Curaçao balls, sushi with wasabi foam, and arugula spaghetti.

I look forward to our next joint events, hopefully with even more attendees.
Students returned to their university 50 and 60 years after graduation
30 former students, the Class of 1968 from the former Faculty of Inorganic Technology, visited our university on Saturday, May 26. They were meeting after 50 years. The Dean of the Faculty of Chemical Technology, Prof. Karel Bouzek, greeted them. Afterwards, the alumni went to the AI auditorium, back to their old university benches, to enjoy a lecture by Prof. Michal Ďurovič who shared with them some interesting facts from the field of monument restoration and conservation. They relayed the messages from their classmates from the Class of ’68 who could not be in attendance nand expressed their hope that this was not their last visit to UCT Prague.
The second reunion meeting took place on Monday, June 4, at the UCT Historical Library Room. The Class of 1958 was welcomed there by the current Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Technology, Prof. Vladimír Kočí. Seven of the ’58 graduates met at their Alma mater after a long 60 years and expressed a great wish to visit the labs and lecture halls where they used to study. They were taken to guided tours to the Department of Polymers, the Department of Petroleum Technology and Alternative Fuels as well as the Department of Glass and Ceramics. Later on, they reminisced about their student years on the university benches in the AI auditorium, which, according to them, hadn’t changed that much since their days.
Both groups finished their reunions over good beer.
